FEEL – The Album Tour

Dunno if we’ve mentioned it but this Friday 7th Oct, we’re putting our new album out! Not just any album either. It’s our first since 2013, and we’re putting it out on big fancy crowd-funded blue vinyl too. And as nine beautiful videos… with a worldwide premiere at Leeds’ favourite indie cinema. Plus our usual Pay What You Want downloads and CDs.

So, we’re excited and nervous… at least in part because we’ve yet to work out how the £%$& we’re gonna play these songs live… and we’ve a tour coming up. So, if you want to hear and see us working realllllly hard (I mean, not in a “I’m off down t’pit 8 while 6, six days a week” kinda way, but y’know… hard for artists), then here’s a little about each show and venue. But first, why not pop our first ever single on to listen to as you read.

UPDATE 07-10-16 – “FEEL” NOW RELEASED!!!

END UPDATE!!!

The Tour

Thursday 20th Oct – Brudenell Social Club, Leeds
We kick things off at our Leeds home, the Brudenell Social Club. Some of our favourite ever nights as both band and audience members are at this place. Perennial winner of all the “Best Venue” awards in the world ever. We’ll be joined by Back Chat Brass (check out this video to see some some familiar faces… and places), and Luke Saxton… aka Mr Saxton who’s made this thing of beauty over here.

Saturday 22nd Oct – 9 Videos Premiere at Hyde Park Picture House, Leeds
We’ve written about this over here, but this is your first and only chance to see the 9 videos for our new album FEEL on the big screen, at Leeds favourite indie cinema. It’s an afternoon thing this, and we’re gonna play a couple of tunes too, and it’s free, and then we’re all going to go to the pub. So, come play out!

Friday 28th Oct – Hartlepool Town Hall Theatre
We love Hartlepool, and the Town Hall is a beautiful venue. This time, we’re made up to be able to introduce a band who’ve yet to sample the delights of the famous Hartlepool “Fish Mitten” (a fish in the shape of a hand no less!). This time, we’re taking the awesome Saints Alive. They joined us for our lovely Halifax Minster earlier in the year, and we’re made up to have them back. Go say howdy to them on Facebook. They’re friendly!

Thursday 3rd Nov – The Bedford, Balham, London
We’ve been wanting to organise a show at The Bedford for years. If you don’t know it, it’s a stunning two tier theatre, and the Shakespeare’s Globe of boutique music venues in London. The one and only Gary Stewart‘s supporting on this one, so make sure to get down early to see his twiddling fingers.

Friday 4th Nov – The Tin, Coventry
We love Coventry so much we wrote a song about it, and we’re soooo happy to be going back to The Tin. Even awesomer is that we’ll be joined by Shanade Morrow who’s made this gorgeousness over here.

Saturday 5th Nov – Ropetackle Arts Centre, Shoreham
We had such an amazing time doing A Band Anyone Can Join with Ropetackle, that we just had to come back to Shoreham. There’ll be some Uke at The Duke action in the foyer, and we’re just awaiting confirmation of our support in the main room but safe to say, we’re excited!

Tuesday 8th Nov – Gullivers, Manchester
Last time we played Manchester was to a sold out room at The Castle. Sweat dripping from the ceilings. A stage invasion. It had it all. This time, we’re going to their sister venue, Gullivers, to raise the roof again. Support is by the amazing Jo Dudderidge of The Travelling Band fame. You may remember The Travelling Band from such videos as our Crypt Cover of Rebel Rebel together, but even on his little sexy lonesome Jo’spretty darn tootin’!

Thursday 10th Nov – The Lion Inn, Blakey Ridge
My liver hurts. The Lion Inn, Blakey Ridge looms large in our lives. We’ve been late, snowed in, rained off – you name it, but always a little bit tipsy. We came by on our HSFunbus day. The Huxley wedding took place here. The Crossland family (who run and own the place) invested in our Fan Funded record label back in the day. They’ve not had a single show on for the last 11 years, and we’re marking our return with a support from one our all time faves, Dan Lucas AKA Boss Caine. Pop this video on, then book yet tickets. And bring yer dancing liver!

Friday 11th Nov – Bilton Working Mens Club, Harrogate
First time to Bilton WMC for us, and our first Harrogate show since our Tour Of Infinite Possibility in 2014. Support is from the lovelyBiz Denton, who made this lovely Ont’ Sofa Session.

Saturday 12th Nov – Fibbers, York
Oh Fibbers, how we love you. In all your guises through the years, you are the venue we have played at the most. It’s our last night of the tour, so we should know the songs by then at least! [grins] Me, I hope we get a room and stay over. Support c/o Gobbledigook. Are they theatre? Are they muuuusix? Well, they’re “the feelgood heart of soul music, the essence of rural folk, the groove of true hip-hop and the raw honesty of contemporary poetry with a wry northern humour and a belief in love and unity. And they want to do it all while wearing cool boots.” Count me in!
