Big Beautiful Brash BRASS Bash Bonanza

We love a bit of brass in Hope and Social. Other things we love include dancing, being ‘entertaining’, making loud noises and making stuff up on the spot, so when we were asked to work with New York Brass Band at Durham BRASS Festival, we jumped at the opportunity.

As usual, we bit off slightly more than was easily chewable so in addition to pulling together a bespoke, brass-heavy set of H&S tunes interspersed with some NYBB faves, we also said we’d write a bunch of songs that were rooted in Durham, and to be performed, and recorded at the Big BRASS Bash shows.

Through the wonders of Arts Council England and by way of the inclusively-thinking Durham County Council, today we are very pleased to be able to announce the release of a brand spanking new Hope and Social & New York Brass Band album, and video for your delectation.

The video (by the ever fragrant Sodium) is a lovely little insight into our week in Durham. It seems to omit *most* of the drinking that was done, so all credit to Sodium for that. Must’ve been one hell of an edit guys!

As you can see from the video we had an absolute ball over the course of the week. It’s something we’d really love to do again especially for all yous that couldn’t make it………..maybe like at Christmas……..maybe around 11th December 2015………maybe somewhere in Leeds…….MAAAAAYYYYYBBEEEEE………..

For now though we’re off out this weekend for a few dates so come out to play.
