It’s exciting times for us at H&S Towers as not only is this is our first ever single, but also, it’s the first time we’ve ever worked with a release team on any record we’ve made to date. Told you it was exciting!

We’ve blogged over here about Leila of Strada Music joining the H&S team on booking duties, but we’re also very pleased to introduce you to the PR team who are working with us for our forthcoming releases and tours…

On Radio duties, the marvelous Viaduct Promotions (Dutch Uncles, Field Music, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, OK Go), who’ll be doing all they can to ensure we’re on heavy rotation on Kerrang Radio [grins]. Aaaaaaand on PR, it’s the similarly ace Cannonball PR (Alison Krauss, Badly Drawn Boy, Bjork, Ryan Adams), who’ll be endeavoring to ensure the resurrection of Melody Maker (original journalist line-up) to ensure this record gets the quality 1990’s music journalism it deserves.

The Times They Are A Changing

Our years of being at the cutting edge/coal face/pinnacle [delete as applicable] of the New Music Industries (don’t believe us, ask Dubber) mean we’ve been very much a “Release day means release day” kind of band. We want people to be able to hear the thing, and own the thing at the same time. We work to that date, and that’s when the music is released. However, as we’re embarking on these new and interesting adventures of investing in PR/Radio plugging, we’re working in different ways. I was speaking last week with Jamie of Cannonball PR (oh, and look him up on Google+… his profile pic is AMAZING!), and he was rightly explaining that while we at Hope and Social are in many ways preaching to the converted, his, and Russel of Viaduct’s job is to put us in front of new ears. So, this is the first time we’ve ever had a track from the album go out before the album itself.

Hopefully, it serves as a teaser for new people, and an exciter for all you stalwart Hope and Social revelers. We’ll be playing Sunrise Laughing (amongst other, more familiar H&S fare) at Hull Truck this Sunday 18th Sept – city of culture innit. [grins] Aaaaaaand don’t forget that FEEL – the album, is coming out on the 7th Oct (expect cheeky listens before that though I reckon), and we’re off on the FEEL – The Album Tour very soon, so as the song says… “Come on out, be yourself again”
