1000s of suggestions, 14 hours, 2 artists, 1 crypt, 1 song…
The idea for Crypt Covers it that Hope and Social are joined, for one day, in our studio The Crypt, by some of our very favourite artists. Together we arrange, record and produce a collaborative cover track with accompanying video, as suggested by You, in just one day.
⇒ Crypt Covers Vol. 1 is out now!
When we announce the next artist up on our blog you can submit your lovingly chosen cover suggestions on twitter using the tag #cryptcovers, on facebook, or in the comments on that blog. You can submit as many suggestions as you wish, one of them is going to take us somewhere exciting.
The days start early with a legendary Crypt Cover Breakfast, over which we digest your track suggestions, and unanimously agree (usually with the help of the Wheel of Doom) which one to destroy record [wink]. We then have until midnight to get it down and mixed. The video of the day with track is released the following morning, and then we all sleep for a week.
We live blog each days events, so get involved and join us by clicking the appropriate link below.
Make no mistake, this is technically, creatively and professionally challenging for everyone involved; but the promise of something special coming from it is simply irresistible. We’ve just finished our first album’s worth (ten to date), however if you are interested in getting involved, or have any collaboration suggestions, please do email us at contact@hopeandsocial.com.

Breakfast was healthy – 24 Krispy Creme doughnuts and lots of coffee. Lunch was a buffet affair of sorts – French sticks, hummus, sliced meats, olives and that… stuff to pick it. We were delayed somewhat due to a service and a funeral upstairs in the church… and we had no pro-video crew… but we made it. ;)

Breakfast was was more like brunch, due to a late start. Sandwiches, muffins, flapjacks and brownies… essentially JUNK FOOD….and copious amounts of coffee. Come back The Breakfast Chef – all the granola is forgiven. (The Breakfast Chef has received texts demanding the return of granola)

Breakfast was a heart stopping case of 24 Krispy Kreme donuts. This caused much excitement. Heathens. And yes, of course they ate them all.

Breakfast was slices of barrel aged feta on buttered French baguette, smothered in acacia honey, with coffee and still lemonade. No complaints, although Simon did suggest it looked like a 1980’s eastern block hotel buffet.
