A letter from Si Goff

To the big wide family of H&S,

I’m sure many of you have heard already and caught on to Rich’s hint in the last blog but I am writing to you all to say farewell. It is with a heavy heart that I have decided that my time as a member of Hope and Social is coming to its close. For the past two years I have been lucky to spend increasing amounts of time in Berlin and all over Europe performing in dance pieces (where I met my beautiful girlfriend Lisanne…a big contributing factor to this decision) and with other groups. Inevitably as both of these worlds become busier and busier it has become impossible to do both with the commitment they deserve.

The biggest thing I want to say is Thank you. Thank you to each and everyone of you for the past six years. It has been an amazing period and something I will never ever forget. It is an honour and privilege to say I have been a member of Hope and Social.

Hope and Social is not just a band, it is a family. One very wise gentleman joked with me once that I was growing up in H&S. We laughed about the potential for all good (and chaos) that could lead to! I really do feel this though. When I joined I was a fresh faced 21 year old, now I move on being a slightly less fresh faced 27 year old who has gained so much experience in performing, writing and everything else that surrounds being in this band.

The experiences I have been able to share with all of you will stay with me forever, from the first event I was part of, ‘Come dine with us’, to the Garden Party, and of course – the Tour of Infinite Possibility, who could have asked for a better way to spend my last year.

So my chapter of this story is closing but a new one begins. I will let the band introduce the new member to you but I feel very confident that he is going to be the perfect match.

Thank you all for an amazing time.
