November Tour – We need your help!

Yes that’s right, we of Hope and Social are strapping ourselves in once again for a stint of driving round the country in our trusty red steed!

In November we will be hitting the road coming to a town near you (hopefully) and we might be…..just maybe…playing some new songs.

We are back in the studio in a few weeks time, hoping to record these new songs which may (note – this is not certain!) result in a new album for you to for feast your ears on just before we get out and about.

However!…..we also need your help. We have 7 dates booked so far and room for another 10 or so to be booked.

Over the last two years we have managed to build a strong following in a number of towns and cities around the country but at the same time we feel we are missing others altogether. We would love to rectify this and we need your help to do it!

Below is a list of the dates we have booked in our diary for the November tour. The shows that have been confirmed are in bold capitals. The others are suggestions of places we would love to play so if you think you can help us get a show there please get in touch with me (si.goff @ hopeandsocial.com) If you have any other suggestions of places to play and can get us one of the dates there then please feel free to get in touch as well.

Thank you!

I would have suggested Liverpool, but as it’s already on the list… 2nd date in Liverpool? :) Williamson Tunnels would be a cool venue (literally, especially in November) – that’s if they still do events.

I can second Greystones for Sheffield and how about The Donkey, Leicester Tuesday 4th before Birmingham? Enthusiastic management and clientele for live music – the Arthur Rigby gang had a good gig there

My living room in Leeds! Was going to ask you guys if you would consider doing a charity gig as part of “Movember” (moustaches essential!) on Sat 24th but doesn’t really work in between the London and Brighton gigs … maybe next year? Second the vote for Greystones in Sheff! Went to buy tickets for Brudenell gig today but not yet available … Look foward to seeing you there! x

I think, and to be honest, what has to be thought of here is the geographical crossover that might happen.
I think it needs to be considered that booking a lot of shows in Yorkshire may only saturate this area, and have a slight knock on affect on audience figures at those shows.
I mean by this….
Harrogate, York, Leeds, Halifax, Sheffield, Manchester… all pretty close in terms of promoting…. so to add Holmfirth might just be overkill on one of the other shows.

I’d suggest possibly somewhere like Stockton Georgian Theatre, or Middlesborough Westgarth Social.

similarly, places in the midlands, like Derby, Nottingham, Leicester, Northampton, Coventry, Peterborough, etc. As its seems to be a lack of anything in those areas in comparison to the locality here.

Also, How about Hull or Scarborough for East Yorkshire…. or Pocklington?

or somewhere like the arts centre in cumbria on the way back from Scotland, or other lancashire towns like Blackburn/Preston/Burnley… or somewhere like The Met at Bury.

Just trying to encourage a bit of spread also rather than a geographical concentration of this area.

You should come to somewhere in Northamptonshire – the Castle in Wellingborough??
We love seeing you live – it was AWESOME in the Performance cafe at GB12.

Thanks :)

September 2, 2012 at 6:54 pm

It would be great to have you guys play the south coast. The Wedgewoodrooms in Portsmouth has been recommended, or the Cellars, but if you really want to tap into your fan base, head to Petersfield (ok, not the south coast) where you have a following which has found delight in your gigs at Greenbelt 2012 and 2011. What about my 40th in May 2013?

I know you’re doing London but Kingston is a great place to play. You have the Grey Horse, The Fighting Cocks and The Peel. Cocks will give you the best sound and a great intimate place.
