Crypt Covers 5: Louis Barabbas & the Bedlam 6

UPDATE 19/07/12 >>

And here we have it… less than twenty four hours after playing a note, Simon and Garfunkel’s “Keep The Customer Satisfied” by Louis Barabbas and The Bedlam Six and Hope and Social. It was a pleasure to play with the chaps, top banter and a goood working day… we even flew some trombone parts in from Manchester. Enjoy.

Also, Louis has blogged about the day here. Well worth a peek. ;)

It’s number 5! A number with great historical portent. From everyone’s second favourite 90’s boyband to the best number of young chaps and chapesses to have dinghy based adventures in the Lake District with it’s a biggy. It also means that we’re half through this crazy and hugely disorganised covers project. So… with joy in our hearts and neat spirits in our hands we’re very pleased to announce that our guest on the 18th July 2012 is the ‘mazing and wonderful Louis Barabbas and the Bedlam 6. Which is one more than 5! Amazing. People have been trying to hook us up with this raucous set of troubadors for over a year now and it’s finally happened. You could possibly think of them as Hope and Social’s dark side… Looking forward to this one lots and lots.

Crypt Covers 5 live blog below. The neet widget thing makes a lovely rhythmical “clikerty clack” noise when you join in. Give it a go, and stay with us… it also pulls in tweets with #cryptcovers tag.

All about Louis….

Louis used to have a massive beard. We don’t know if he does now. THIS IS EXCITING.

If you view the above video on Youtube the top suggested video in the sidebar is Marilyn Manson on Graham Norton. Which is kind of awesome.

You can hear Louis’s latest record “Memoir Noir” right here….

You can also find Louis on twitter as @louisbarabbas.

5 Facts about Louis Barabbas

There are no facts about Louis Barabbas. There are only rumours and myth.

The Story So Far…

We’ve been amazed by the response to the first 4 Crypt Covers with Ellen and The EscapadesShe Makes War, Sam Airey and Chris Helme and the response to them has been tremendous. So no pressure then. The project has a really lovely feel, it’s gathering momentum, and we are all exited about where our collaborators and you take us next.

How about Black Night or even Speed King by Deep Purple as a nod to Jon Lord?
