Snowball Week – Ho-Ho Hope and Social
“Oompa oompa ooompa oompa!”
Four pubs, one school, two busses, one town hall with 23 steps, 720 pints of Ho-Ho Hope and Social, 160 revellers, 6 band members, three trumpets, four saxophones, three trombones, one christmas tree (more on that tomorrow), hundreds of pom-poms, secret santa pressents, a band of merry helpers and one amazing day!
Firstly, a massive thank you to all who came for making The Snowball such a great day. The effort put in by You has absolutely blown us away. The pom poms and secret santa gifts were really special, you all amazed us with your kindness, thoughtfulness, generousity and general “Up-for-it-ness) … but the singing, well the singing we will never forget.
We’ve never felt so Christmassy.
We have donated the tree to Hillside, so the local community, young and old, women and children have been reading your filthy dirty jokes! Speaking of Christmas trees… (more on this tomorrow) but if you want to get some more of the beautiful Hope & Social Christmas decorations (beautifully sculpted by Rhona and Malcolm) before Christmas then please get your orders in this weekend here Their beauty has already been picked up by purveyors of style: http://craftsville.co.uk/?p=1882
Hung up they really are so delicate and unusual. Great gifts.
The planning
So, we wanted to let you in on a bit of the prep from the week preceding the Snowball itself. We know you all enjoyed our beer, as brewed by the wonderful Leeds Brewery.
We told Michael of Leeds Brewery we wanted a Christmas beer, a beer of darkness, a beer to reflect Christmas – 3 parts happiness, 2 parts sadness. Sooooo….this is us getting, trying, tapping and loving our beautiful Ho Ho Hope and Social beer.
