The Most Beautiful Deckchairs on Gods Earth

Some things are made entirely of love.

On Saturday we are taking an open top bus full of people to the seaside to play some games, eat some food, play some music and make some friends.

For everyone involved in Hope and Social having fun and making art is the wind in our sails; one evening, wine in hand, Ben Denison was on twitter with artist Malcolm Cruickshank and his fabulous lady Rhona Mowat talking about all that stuff, and about our upcoming seaside charabanc.

As is usual, they got a little excited. So began Musical Deckchairs.

The below video is how “The Most Beautiful Deckchairs on Gods Earth” were made.

Musical Deckchairs from Malcolm Cruickshank on Vimeo. Music by Hope and Social.

They will be used this Saturday on a beach in Yorkshire in a game of musical deckchairs with us playing the music, and are made…….. entirely of love.

The frames of the chairs are described as “…the quintessential British deckchair frame…”. They are made by Southsea Deckchairs from European hardwood sourced from sustainable managed forests and are the same frames that grace promenades and seafronts all around the uk.

They will last a human lifetime….or two.

The slings are hand crafted from recycled sailcloth from an ocean going racing yacht, and combined with the artistic flair and passion for life of Malcolm and Rhona, the are quite simply the most beautiful deckchairs on Gods earth.

Game on.
