The plague has hit the Crypt. A daubed red cross adorns the door and a trough has been placed outside to wash the monies used to pay for incoming pasties. No man shall leave and no man shall enter. We have written and signed our pledge to contain the disease within these walls and during the last few days of our valiant struggle we will create a masterpiece of musical craftsmanship which will be left behind for those who survive this black death. These are dark dark days we live through but our sacrifice is for the greater good of the people.
So everyone’s got a cold and it’s seriously hampering our progress on the new album. I sound like Tom Waits-lite and James has an odd combination of flu and sunburn. Why us? There is a tinge of worry in the air, a slight concern that our promised deadline of May is looming heavy on the horizon…but we are men…we will fight this flu-cold-sunburn thing as men would do…with Lemsip and Lockets and Mansize Tissues and E45.

There’s just too much to say in this mail (and/or blog – Rich). Too much happiness to spread, too much joy. I’ll thing of something miserable to put at the end to even it out… We’ve got t-shirts to sell! The last year has been incredible for us since the release of April and we wanted to commemorate this with our first t-shirt in a long long time. Printed on fairtrade, fair-work, fair-enough, made-in-Britain t-shirts by a local company for local people the design features the April flowers and the strapline “12 months of April”. We’re taking orders now and they’ll be dispatched at the end of the month…Lovely!
Slick back your hair, don your cravat, get that chin stroked and oil your creaky hips…we’re swinging again. The Hope and Social Big Band will be wheeling our their wears one more time to play with the Anchormen in Brighouse on Saturday June 25th. It’s going to be incredible because this time we’re going to rehearse. There’s more on it on Facebook here

Our all-too-youthful bass player Simon Goff has been working hard on another project “A Hawk in The Rain” (which deserves a listen and a few of your hard earned pennies). Take a look at when you get a moment at ahawkintherain.com as it’s rather beautiful
Oh and our all-too-sneaky Trumpet maestro has been up to no good. 7/10 James. Read all about ithere.
PS – yes we know we have written “t-shit” on the the tee shirt page… it is a tee shirt that’s for sale, not a t-shit … but we like it and aren’t changing it.
PPS – if you want to keep abreast of developments of recordings and that, rich has some images up and tagged “Album3” on flickr here.
